The NEBOSH National General Certificate covers the main legal requirements for health and safety in the UK, identification and control of workplace hazards, and the practical application of this knowledge. The syllabus is mapped to the National Occupational Standards for Health and Safety owned by ENTO. No previous health and safety knowledge is required but candidates should note the assessment includes a requirement to write a short report. The examination comprises of two written exams which last two hours each, and a practical assessment which involves a safety inspection of a work site and the production of a written report under exam conditions. The two written exams are taken on one day and the practical to be completed at your workplace.

The qualification is divided into three units, each of which is assessed separately:
Management of Health and Safety (NGC1)
Controlling workplace hazards (NGC2)
Health and safety practical application (NGC3)
Please contact us for additional information regarding the syllabus for the 3 unitsThe National General Certificate is delivered over a 2 week period. You should also plan approximately 49 hours of private study and background reading.
