With Autism Disorders varying widely in severity and effecting an estimated 700,000 people in the UK, it is vital to understand how best to support those affected (and their loved ones) on an individual basis. In order to take this person-centred approach, communication skills must be highly developed, and an in-depth understanding and knowledge gained of the skills needed to promote positive behaviours, so allowing people living with Autism Disorders to lead fulfilling lives and to have full access to the support available.

About this course
This qualification looks at the misconceptions, diagnoses and support available in relation to Autism.
This qualification is for anyone with a duty of care towards people who have/could have Autism Disorder.
No previous qualifications required.
For government funding you must meet the following criteria:
- have been living in England for 3 years or more
- be over the age of 19
- not currently on another government funded programme.
