Participants can attend the course for attendance only or the course may be taken with other appropriate courses as part of a postgraduate award, e.g. postgraduate diploma or master’s degree.

Course programme

The course consists of lectures, practical tutorials and directed learning tasks. Participants will be expected to participate in discussions regarding theoretical considerations and issues surrounding the assessment and management of acutely unwell respiratory patients.
Participants will be encouraged to draw on past experiences of clinical practice and actively engage in evaluation of contemporary clinical practices related to non-invasive management.
Theoretical elements will include advanced techniques for assessment and treatment alongside practical application of a variety of non-invasive ventilation techniques.
Assessment
Assessment for credit will require postgraduate registration, attendance at an additional 2 (or more) appropriate courses and completion of an assessment consisting of a written case study. For more information please contact Christine Mikelsons
