Nutrition and Health Course This course is designed for those who wish to develop their understanding of the principles of healthy eating and the role of food in maintaining health. There has never been such a wide range of food available to us. This course will provide the knowledge to make informed lifestyle choices in relation to diet. A report by the National Audit office warns that if the current trend continues, a quarter of Britons will be obese by 2010.In addition it is estimated that illnesses associated with poor eating habits are costing the health service more than £500 million per year.

Unit 1: Explore principles of nutrition and health
Unit 2: Consider nutritional needs of a variety of individuals
Unit 3: Use food and nutritional information to plan a healthy diet
Study Hours
