Nutrition Course Columbia University Press has defined nutrition as the "study of the materials that nourish an organism and of the manner in which the separate components are used for maintenance, repair, growth, and reproduction." This course aims to introduce the student to the importance of nutrition in our everyday lives, and the components that make up this interesting subject. The student will also consider the importance of diets, their effects and their construction.

The cell and cell energy - the cell
The environment inside the cell

The vitamins:
- How they activate enzymes

Study Hours
This is only an approximate figure and is dependant upon how much time you can dedicate to your studies and how well you grasp the learning concepts in the course material. Furthermore, at the end of each lesson there is a question paper that needs to be completed and returned to your tutor. You should allow at least 1 - 2 hours of study to complete each question paper.
