NVQ 2 in Children's Care Learning and Development

Course summary:
A roll on roll off programme where competence is assessed in the workplace. Attendance at workshops is required to allow candidates to acquire knowledge evidence.

Course content:
6 Mandatory Units
201 Contribute to positive relationships
202 Help to keep children safe.
203 Support children's development
204 Use support systems to develop own practise in children's
care, learning and development.
205 Prepare and maintain environments to meet childrens needs.
206 Support children's play and learning.

1 Optional Unit

Assessment procedure:
Competence is assessed in the workplace.

Qualifications achieved:
NVQ in Childcare Learning and Development at Level 2

Progression opportunities:
On completion of Level 2 candidates are able to work in a supervised capacity in a setting with children from 0 - 16 years.

Progression to the Level 3 award allows the candidate to work unsupervised, again in a setting with children from 0 - 16 years.
