3. Entry requirements -Pass or above at Level 2 Diploma in a relevant curriculum area qualification or minimum 4 GCSEs at Grade A*- C. -Priority will be given to those aged 16-18 years old. NVQ Level 2 Beauty Therapy, CGLI Beauty Therapy or CIDESCO Beauty Therapy. -You will need to provide a reference or school report before or at interview. The offer of a place on this course is dependant upon a satisfactory reference. -An ability to communicate one to one e.g. to a tutor or customer and in a group as part of discussions. -Minimum Level 1 English (expected to work towards Level 2). Reading & writing - You will need to produce written assignments and sit written exams. -Whilst high levels of numeracy are not required, you will need to measure products, work within specific timings etc. -You need the skills for fine work e.g. handling electrical equipment and manual massage. You will need to be able to work under pressure and stand for long periods of time e.g. delivering body massage treatments. Before starting, you will take English and maths assessments to ensure you can meet the requirements of the course. Equipment required You will need to provide your own uniform, following the College uniform policy (approximatley GBP40). You will also need to purchase your own equipment (basic essential oil kit) at an approximate cost of GBP45. 5. Assessment method Assessments continue throughout the course both in practical and theory sessions. In addition there are VTCT online exams.
