Course Description
The National Vocational Qualifications are competence based and therefore differ from traditional examination based courses.
NVQ Courses are based on Competence and to obtain the complete qualification for any particular level, you will be required to complete compulsory and optional units and be competent in performng your practical 'care' duties within the NVQ framework and knowledge specifications of the units.
• assessment is undertaken in the work environment
• various methods are used to assess competence
• there are no 'closed book' examinations
• they take account of previous experience
• they allow the individual to work and achieve at their own pace
Students studying NVQ Health and Social Care at Tudor College will study General English and IELTS as a continuing support to improve in their English proficiency.

Students studying NVQ Health and Social Care at Tudor College will have the opportunity to study academic IELTS as well as General English.
