This module will develop your knowledge and clinical skills in obstetric ultrasound procedures and allow you to critically evaluate professional issues relating to ultrasound practice in this emotive area.You will develop your knowledge and understanding to perform, interpret and report a wide range of clinical ultrasound examinations in obstetrics in a competent and professional manner, whilst being able to respond to changes in working practice and apply new techniques after critically evaluating them.You will develop the skills to be able to critically review management options for a range of common anomalies and situations.The module will facilitate the extended role of the practitioner by encouraging the skills of reflection and analysis so that you can critically appraise current practice, propose and develop improvements in practice and so improve the service to the patient and the effectiveness of the ultrasound department. Unless you already hold a recognised ultrasound qualification, this module can only be taken as part of a programme, not as a stand-alone module.
