This course is for beginners and those with just a little singing experience. Come and learn the basic techniques behind good and healthy singing and explore your musicianship and discover a wide selection of music in a fun environment.(max 16 places per class). Tutor: Heather Longman.

About this course

- prepare and organise oil painting materials and lay out a palette
- understand the essentials of colour-mixing using a range of paint-handling techniques
- create a still life painting from observation
- develop the skill & confidence to take further courses and/or continue on your own.

All materials are provided. Bring an old shirt or apron to protect your clothes.

Course programme

How to start an oil painting, prime a surface, organise materials and lay out a palette.
How to mix colour using a range of guided exercises and paint-handling techniques.
You will work from still life and artist-inspired images.

Tutor-led discussions and demonstrations will provide a basis for learning and give way to practical applications and experimentation in using the materials.
