Each lesson will take inspiration from an artist who has a special and unique approach to light and shade.
You will make paintings which deepen your visual perception of tonal colour and increase sensitivity to handling oil paint.

About this course
- Use tone and colour-tone in painting with increased sensitivity and pleasure.
- Find inspiration from a variety of artistic sources for further painting.
(James Bland, Seurat, Richter, Caravaggio, Hitchcock).
- Use oil paint to maintain freshness and luminosity through dry and wet methods.
Basic materials for the course are provided. Please bring along 2 glass jars with lids, an A4 sketchbook and, for the last session you may wish to bring a canvas to paint on, but this is not essential.
- Slide shows, books, practical demos, group & individual advice,
- Final session, students will make a single day long painting based on their favoured approach so they may wish to research suggested artists & concepts as the course develops.
