This two-session workshop will guide you through the basics of preparing your work for single prints or editions. During session one we will look at the difference between inkjet/giclée and C-type prints and where you can get them done. You will prepare one image to print a number of ways using online digital printing and get this done before week 2. During the second session we will look at ways to improve these tests and get the best possible result for your print.We will be working with Adobe Photoshop for basic image adjustments and to print your small test prints.If you wish to print edition paintings or non-photographic prints, you will need to bring high-resolution photographs of your work.

- describe the difference between and inkjet and a C-type print and know which is suitable for your work- print a test print using an Epson inkjet printer on specialist inkjet paper- change the settings on the printer software to match your paper, and upload profiles for specialist paper types- print an image using both inkjet/giclée and C-type processes using an online printer.
Please bring a few of your own images to the first class – ideally on a memory stick or on an external hard disc, or on your camera card. There will be a mix of practical printing and taught sessions in a dedicated studio environment, using Apple Mac computers, Epson printers and high-quality inkjet paper. Students will be required to print work themselves online between sessions 1 and 2.
