What will the course cover?

Before you start working as a beauty therapist, holistic therapist or nail technician you need to be aware of the essential legislation for the safety of yourself & clients. The course consists of 7 modules:

• Health & Safety
• Essential Legislation
• Hygiene & Sanitation
• Preventing Infection
• Personal Appearance & Professionalism
• Consultation
• Insurance

Once you have completed this course, you will continue to receive updates of any changes to UK legislation that will affect your business.

How do I start the course?

Once the course is paid for, you will receive an email from the Guild to activate it. Once it has been activated you will have access to all 7 course modules. Following each one you will take an online exam which requires a pass rate of around 70%. If you fail a module you will have the option to re-take the exam twice. If you fail 3 times you will be contacted by the tutor for support before you make a final attempt.

Do I need anything special on my computer?

You will need to have a modern web browser and speakers or headphones. The modules may not work on some iPhones or iPads.

How long will the course take and what support do I receive?

Most students are able to complete the course within approx 10 hours of study however it depends how quickly you learn & the number of hours a day you are able to spend on it. You will have access to email support from fully qualified therapists/tutors.
