Operator Certification Update

The Pro Tools 220: Operator Certification Update covers updates that have been incorporated into the Pro Tools 101, 110, 201, 210M and 210P course books for Pro Tools 8. The course is designed for participants who have completed the 100 and 200 level certification courses for Pro Tools 7. Upon Successful completion of this course, participants will be eligible to take the Digidesign Pro Tools Music Operator Certification Update Exam or Pro Tools Post Operator Certification Exam for Pro Tools 8.

Course Objectives
Throughout this course you will develop a thorough understanding of the following:

• The changes introduced in Pro Tools 8
• The features of the Music Production Toolkit 2 and Complete Production Toolkit for host based Pro Tools systems
• New virtual instrument and effect plug-ins included with Pro Tools 8
• Configuration option in the Pro Tools 8 user interface, including customising the Edit window toolbar and displaying the Universe view
• The MIDI Editor and Score Editor windows
• Using Score Setup, editing and printing scores
• Elastic Audio Pitch Transposition
• Automation and Controller lanes included in Pro Tools 8
• The new Playlist view for track
• New Pro Tools 8 track compositing features
• Techniques for rating regions
• New commands for snapping a region to the previous or next region
• New shortcuts for commonly used features
• Edit Locking and Time Locking Regions

Music Or Post?
This course has been designed so that both Music and Post operators can work from the same book. We will however be teaching 2 separate classes, one of which will taken by a Pro Tools Music trainer and the other by a Pro Tools Post trainer. When enrolling please state which class you would prefer to attend.

Prerequisites
This course requires prior completion of the Pro Tools 7 Operator Certification in Music or Post. This course can also be taken after successful completion of the Pro Tools 101, 110 and 201 courses for Pro Tools 7 along with Pro Tools 210M or 210P for Pro Tools 8.
