Delegates will be able to: Understand limitations in the outdoor environment. Give emergency resuscitation to an Adult casualty until medical assistance arrives. Recognise and appropriately treat an Adult that is choking. Deal with an Adult that is unconscious or bleeding. Deal with a casualty with a suspected Heart Attack. Treat a variety of injuries and conditions that may occur in the outdoor environment. Suitable for members and leaders of activity and youth groups in addition to the general public. For those who have responsibility for taking groups of people on activity outings such as orienteering, outdoor walks or bike rides.

What you will learn?
The course includes sport and leisure specific conditions that may arise while participating in your activities in an outdoor environment.
Course Content:
- Dealing with emergencies outdoors.
- Going prepared.
- The aims & priorities of First Aid.
- Treating a casualty who is unconscious.
- Treating a casualty who is unconscious and not breathing.
- Conditions relating to extremes of temperature.
- Treatment of head injuries.
- Recognition and treatment of Diabetes and Epilepsy.
- Damage to bones, joints and muscles.
- Breathing difficulties & allergic reaction.
- Treatment for bleeding and shock.
- Treatment of casualty that has suffered a sudden collapse.
Assessment
Ongoing assessment will take place throughout the course.
Costs are per delegate and include a personal reference manual & certification fees.
