On this introductory short course you will learn how to draw vector based images in illustrator using some of the drawing tools and techniques in Illustrator CC. You will learn how to draw with the pencil tool and the curvature tool to create and edit paths and shapes, and create and modify lines and fills to create professional looking illustrations.

- Understand the difference between vector based and bitmapped artwork
- Understand the Illustrator cc interface
- Understand how to create and modify paths and curves
- Draw lines and fills with the pencil tool
- Create straight and curved paths with the curvature tool
- Edit paths and shapes
- Save your files in appropriate format.

The latest professional equipment and software are available for your use throughout the course. It would be useful to bring a memory stick (or portable hard drive – please note PC formatted hard drives can be read by Apple mac computers, but not written to.).

You will be taught using a range of techniques including workshops, short lectures, demonstrations, practical exercises, tutorials, group and individual assistance and hand-outs. Please note the City Lit uses Apple Mac computers in Animation, Cartooning, Digital arts, Film, Graphics, Illustration, Photography and Web design.
