Career Prospects and Progression

Successful learners will be qualified to assess competency-based qualifications within their field of occupational competence. The A1 unit is also an option unit of the NVQ Levels 3 and 4 Learning and Development qualification which includes the design of learning programmes and mentoring of learners. Assessors may choose to progress to the V1 Internal Verifier award and/or the full Learning and Development NVQ.

Modules

The unit consists of 4 elements: Developing plans for assessing competence with candidates Judging evidence against agreed standards to make assessment decisions Giving candidates feedback and support on your assessment decisions Contributing to the internal quality assurance process

Method of Assessment

Assessment is based on observation, evidence collected by candidates at their workplace, witness testimonials and professional discussion, all presented in a portfolio of evidence.
