Fee Information: The College charges a range of fees, primarily Home and Overseas. Under 19s assessed as Home, do not pay the course fees, we only charge a 20 enrolment fee which is refunded if you complete the course. Home students over 19 undertaking their First Full Level 2 (equivalent to 5 GCSE A-C) or their First Full Level 3 (equivalent to BTEC National or 2 ALevels) will be charged 20 enrolment fee plus any examination fees. For Home students over 19 receiving certain state benefits, the 20 enrolment is charged and not refundable. In all other instances, you will be charged the Home-EU or Overseas Fee.

About the course:
The syllabus follows the integrated skills approach including the following:
* Speaking
* Listening
* Reading
* Writing
A variety of authentic materials and texts are used, including newspapers, magazines, articles, cassettes and videos. The content of the teaching material will be drawn from the following AS topic areas:
* Youth culture and concerns
* Lifestyle, health and fitness
* The world around us: travel, tourism, environmental issues
* Education and employment
For A2, the topic areas will be:
* Customs, traditions, beliefs and religions
* National and international events
* Literature and the arts
Some literary texts may be studied. The classes are conducted in Spanish. The course is modular and all candidates may choose to take 2 modules to obtain an AS Level certificate:
Unit 1: Spoken expression and response
Unit 2: Understanding and written response
To obtain the full A Level certificate, students must take a further 2 modules:
Unit 3: Understanding and spoken response
Unit 4: Research, understanding and written response
The AS Level course runs on Tuesday evenings, 6.00-9.00pm.
The A2 Level course runs on Wednesday evenings, 6.00-9.00pm.
Assessment:
All units are externally assessed and the exams take place in May/June. The exam board is Edexcel.
After the course:
If you are studying A Level Spanish as part of an advanced programme of studies, you could go on to study Spanish at degree level. The course will also prepare you for employment in a Spanish-speaking country.
