AAT FoundationCourse Outline
This is the first level of a three stage qualification. This level will start to develop your skills in double entry book-keeping and give you an understanding of management and administrative processes. You'll learn how to use manual and computerised accounting systems and to work with the purchase ledger, sales ledger and general ledger.

Entry requirements
There are no formal entry qualifications; students should be reasonably numerate and can complete examinations and written projects in English.

What will I study?
You will study: Recording Income & Receipts; Making & Recording Payments; Preparing Ledger Balances & an Initial Trial Balance; Supplying Information for Management Control; Working with Computers; Contribute to the Maintenance of a Healthy, Safe & Productive Working Environment and Achieving Personal Effectiveness.

How will I be assessed?
There are two types of assessments Examinations - There is one examination which is set and marked by the AAT. Skills tests - These are course assessments which can include evidence from your workplace, voluntary activities you are involved in or simulations based on real work activities.

Career Opportunities & Progression
After successful completion of this course you can progress onto the Intermediate stage. The completion of this level is recognised by employers.
