Course Content

This course is suitable for learners wishing to develop their skills in preparing and displaying wired sugar flowers. The programme is designed not only to achieve the ABC qualification but to support learners in preparing work to exhibition standard.

Course Features

Provides students with nationally recognise qualification in this craft.

Learners are required to purchase personal protective equipment to comply with food hygiene legislation.

General equipment for classes is made available for the use of all learners. However students will be expected to purchase eg specialist cutters and colours for their personal use.
Career Prospects and Progression

The work is planned to enable students to enter their work in National competitions and compliments the skills of Cake Decoration. Many learners completing this course use their skills to start their own businesses.

Method of Assessment

You will be continuously assessed throughout the course on your practical skills and the development of a portfolio of your work. At the end of the year you will sit a multiple choice examination.
