What will you study
The course is focused on preparing you for degree level study. You will choose 3 modules to study from these pairs: Sociology or English Literature * Contextual Studies or Biology * History or Psychology. You will also study other vital skills such as: Essay Writing * Report Writing * Presentations * Communication * IT * Research Techniques - all of which will be required when you go on to university.

How will you be assessed
This course is made up of 60 credits. Credits are awarded through assessment at the end of/or during each module. To achieve the full certificate learners must pass 15 credits at Level 2 (GCSE equivalent) and 45 credits at Level 3 (A level equivalent). Assessments can take a variety of forms. They range from completing an essay question, to giving a presentation, taking an exam or producing a poster. All of these skills will be taught during the course.

Additional information
You will be assigned a tutor at the outset of the course. The tutor will closely monitor and track your progress and be able to help with issues of organising study and stop the problem of assignments piling up! The tutor will monitor your attendance, which must not fall below 80% throughout the year. The tutor will organise any additional support where required and signpost your to other staff members for advice on finances or counselling needs.
