Unit 1 Personal Communication Skills, Unit 2 Knowledge and understanding of language and literacy frameworks, Unit 3 Personal and Social Factors and their Impact on Individual Learners, Unit 4 Language and Society: factors influencing language and literacy development, Unit 5 Learning Support Theory and Practice Learning Support Assistants, Unit 6 Learning Support Theory and Practice Non-specialist Teachers
Method of Assessment

Unit 2 is an externally set and marked assignment. Units 1,3,4,5,6 are assessed by product evidence that meets all the learning outcomes and all the skills required are independently assessed.

Course Length

90 guided sessions and 15 hours practical placement in a literacy context.
