This practical set of qualifications is designed to provide specific, industry-based training in Broadcast Media. Learners are involved in a range of hands-on production projects including camera work, sound recording and screen writing. They will create a portfolio of their own production work with a view to progression to higher education or the industry itself. This industry approved course is designed to develop the creative and technical skills of learners, and to develop the skills required by the media industries.

Course Length

The Diploma is a one year full-time programme ( 2 years part-time). Single Awards include 60 hours of Guided Learning. Double Awards include 120 hours of Guided Learning

Entry Requirements

No specific academic requirements are applied as a pre-condition to studying a Certificate or Diploma. However, candidates would be expected to demonstrate the attainment of transferable knowledge and skills to at least Level 2 (or equivalent standard) prior to commencing the qualification. Candidates would be expected to attend an interview with a portfolio of work to demonstrate they have sufficient experience in a relevant art, design or media sector such that they will be able to contribute to and successfully complete a level 3 Certificate or Diploma.
