Course Content

This qualification is aimed at developing Beauty Therapists to become qualified in a variety of treatments including Facials, Manicure, Pedicure, Make-up, Eye treatments and Waxing. This is the second level qualification leading to further qualifications at level 3.

Course Features

Two well equiped salons in the college which provide experience and awareness of the industry. environment.

A one day a week work experience is an integral part of the programme which all students follow to creating opportunities for future employment.

Extra curriculum activities include fashion shows, competitions and industrial events.

The course is full-time which consists of two days and one evening in college.
Career Prospects and Progression

The course will give students the opportunity to broaden their employment potential such as work in Department stores as Beauty Consultants and Specialist facial work in beauty salons. Can lead to a further year for completion of the full beauty therapy Level 3 qualification.

Facial Massage and skin care. Eye Treatments Waxing treatments Manicure treatments Pedicure treatment Apply and Instruct make-up Implement good working relationships Optional units: Ear Piercing, Customer Seervice, Reception

Method of Assessment

Continual practical observation on clients throughout the programme. Assignments and some written tests. Students are also required to compile a portfolio of evidence.
