Course Description
The BTEC National Certificate in Construction qualification is for students who wish to pursue careers in the technical side of the construction industry.
Course Structure
This course is made up of 12 units: 6 core units and 6 specified specialist units, giving an overall general approach to the technical side of the construction industry.

- Health, Safety and Welfare
- Construction and the Environment
- Mathematics in Construction and the Built Environment
- Construction Science and Materials
- Construction Technology and Design in Construction and Civil engineering
- Building Technology in Construction
Specialist Units:
- Planning, Organisation and Control of Resources
- Property Law in Construction
- Surveying in Construction & Civil Engineering
- Building Surveying in Construction
- Measurement, Tendering and Estimating Processes
- ICT and CAD

Course Progression
Successful completion of National Certificate will enable students to progress to HNC programme in Construction.
Course Career Prospects
- Student not already in employment could progress into technical jobs in the construction industry such as Building Surveyor, Quantity Surveyor, Architectural Technician, Buyer/Estimator.
