About this Course
During the course you will learn a range of practical woodworking skills covering site carpentry, bench joinery and cabinet making. There is also a theory aspect to the course to give you a good underpinning knowledge of the topics covered.

Course programme
You will cover a range of units throughout the course in order to introduce, develop and then expand your skills. These include:
- Jointing skills
- Assembly skills
- Flooring skills
- Partitioning skills
- Hand tool maintenance
- Functional Skills in maths and English (for those who have not achieved GCSE grades C or above in these subjects)
How will I be assessed?
There is no formal examination to sit. On completion of each unit you be assessed on the quality of your practical work and the completion of a small underpinning knowledge book.

What can I progress to?
On completion of the course you may progress onto the Diploma in Carpentry and Joinery or the Diploma in Furniture and Cabinet Making.
