Entry requirements
You must be over 16 and have relevant GCSEs and have an adequate ability in Numeracy, Literacy and Communication. Applications from mature students are most welcome

What will I study?
You will study the C&G 6958 Electronic Servicing Part One course. Units specify the basic competence required to work from circuit and wiring diagrams and layout drawings and identify, select and assemble components and wires needed to produce and test simple circuits operated by battery or other low voltage DC power supplies. You will also study basic electrical and electronic principles with an emphasis on electronic systems.

How will I be assessed?
This programme is assessed by continuous assessment of practical competencies. In course assessment of practical assignments will be carried out. After one year, students are given the opportunity to sit a multiple ? choice examination, which leads to a City & Guilds 6958 Electronic Servicing Part 1 qualification

Having developed fundamental practical skills and a basic understanding of electrical and electronic concepts, employment opportunities exist in the field of Electronic Assembly and Automation. You will also be able to progress to City & Guilds 6958 Part 2 Electronic Servicing.
