This course is aimed at those who work with adults with weak Literacy and/or Numeracy skills or adults who do not have English as their first language. Course Content:

Mandatory Unit:
There is one mandatory unit for all

  • 001 Literacy, language, numeracy and ICT needs for work, education and life

Optional Unit: Participants will then choose one further unit from the following

  • 002 Skills check and signposting
  • 003 Inclusive approaches to providing information
  • 004 Supporting and promoting a responsive service


Entry Requirements:
There are no entry requirements for this course but learners will be expected to have good levels of English or Maths.

Entry Process:
Acceptance onto the course will be subject to a successful telephone interview.

Assessment:
Assessment will be made up of:

  • One supervised assignment of 1 hours
  • One unsupervised assignment


  • Progression Routes:
    Learners can progress on the full certificate but they must have a L2 qualification in either Literacy or Maths depending on their specialism.

    Career Options:
    Learners will be employable as a support worker of adults with the full qualification or use the knowledge from the Pathway route to assist them in their current post.
