Computer Applications (Introduction to)
This course is ideal if you already have a basic knowledge of computers. It is also a progression route to other more advanced courses for you to further develop your computing and IT skills and knowledge. This course will allow you to carry out useful tasks using computer applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel.

You will learn how to use the operating system to start up and close down the system, open and make effective use of software applications, locate data and applications, use a filing system to manage files and folders, use a range of simple tools such as file managers, print managers and control panels and carry out searches and extract and present data.

Further Study/Employment
Successful completion of this course will gain you a certificate from SQA (Scottish Qualifications Authority) and allow progress to a higher level course such as European Computing Driving Licence or Intermediate/Advanced HN Units.
