Course Description
The OCR's Integrated Business Technology Stage 3 (IBT3) is the natural progression from the OCR's IBT2 scheme. It involves some of the most commonly used software applications i.e. database, spreadsheet, word processor, the graphing facilities of the spreadsheet along with e-mail and a presentation application.

What you will Study
1. Receive/send e-mail messages with attached file(s);
2. Create directories/folders and manage files;
3. Update an existing database and produce specified output;
4. Extend an existing spreadsheet and produce specified output;
5. Produce graphs from existing data.
6. Produce an automated presentation;
7. Produce a business publication

The scheme sets out to assess IT skills in a practical way. I.T tests, through source documentation, the student's ability to select relevant data from business documents and supplementary information. There are five Elements of Certification and are the means of recording positive statements of competence which form the statements that will be printed on the student's certificate.

To achieve the full OCR Clait Plus certificate the students must pass all 5 of the above listed elements. If the students do not pass all five elements they will be awarded a Certificate listing the elements in which they have demonstrated competence.

On Completion
Progression from this course is diverse because it can form a wide base of IT applications knowledge, which would be useful in many areas of further study, e.g. BTEC Certificate in Computing and courses in Secretarial Studies and Business Studies
