Fine Art BA (Hons) Top Up Degree
This programme is offered in partnership with the University of Greenwich. Designed for students that have successfully completed a Higher National Diploma (HND) programme in Fine Art or a related discipline, it provides the opportunity to obtain a full Honours Degree (HE Level 6) in Fine Art. The College provide an environment where you can freely research, experiment and explore the diverse disciplines identified as Fine Art, as well as ensuring that you are aware of the bearing historical, contemporary and cultural factors that influence the response to your own and the work of others.

Course Content:
You will develop your skills using media appropriate to the content and context of your work. Media could include:
  • Painting
  • Printmaking
  • Photography
  • Digital manipulation
  • Sculpture

    Employers from a range of industries, who value flexible, self-motivated and creative individuals, often seek Fine Art graduates.

    Attendance Requirements:
    Part-time. Details regarding expected course timetable and attendance will be given at interview.

    Entry Requirements:
    Applicants are expected to have completed an HND in Fine Art or a closely related discipline. This should have been completed with a profile of at least six grades at Merit or above, one of which must be an essay at HE Level 2.

    Assessment:
    Students will be assessed through coursework and a dissertation.

    Progression Routes:
    A growing proportion of graduates undertake further study with a Masters Degree in Fine Art or a related discipline.

    Career Options:
    Careers such as curating, gallery management and teaching are often taken up. A career that relies on income generated by the production of artwork is rare, with many graduates engaging in a career that can sustain their desire to produce art.

    Related Courses:
    The part-time (one day per week) HNC in Fine Art and the full-time HND in Fine Art. The College has a vibrant and encouraging Art and Design centre, with a wide-ranging variety of Further Education and Higher Education programmes.
