Is the course for me?
This course is designed to allow progression from HNC to a Foundation Degree (FdSc). The course will cover project performance, quality and health and safety aspects as well as the technological issues. Work-based learning is the key part of a Foundation Degree where students have the opportunity to apply knowledge and skills to a real-world project thus providing evidence of achievement for a specific unit of study. The course is initially targeted at people working in the construction industry who aim to progress their career, and utilise their experience to contribute to their studies.

What will I learn?
Six units are studied over the year and these consist of: Law and Contract Information Technology Construction Technolgy 2 Sustainable Building Services Work Based Learning 1 Work Based Learning 2

How will I be assessed?
The assessment programme is varied and includes written reports, group work, presentations, practical assessment, case studies, portfolio and time-constrained assessments. Assessments take place throughout the course rather than at the end of each year.

What can I do after the course?
Following successful completion of the Foundation Degree students will be granted progression onto level three of the BSc (Hons) Building Design Technology Management delivered at Liverpool John Moores University
