The Course
A GCSE in French is required to enter an A Level course in French and is very useful for a career in travel and tourism and international business and commerce.

Course Content
The syllabus covers: Everyday activities, personal and social life, the world around us, the world of work, the international world.

In addition to the course students will have access to the Flexible Learning Area (FLA) where a range of computer based learning activities i.e. cassettes, video tapes and CD roms will be available.

Assessment/Exams
Assessment is by examination set by the Northern Examinations and Assessment Board.

Entry Requirements
Students should be at least 16 years of age and have satisfactorily completed secondary education. A basic knowledge of the language in both written and spoken form is required if the student is to achieve a GCSE pass in a year.
