What will I study?
You will study a number of topics which include: Family ? types of family and family life; Education ? the examination of Education systems over time and also differences in Educational Achievement; Crime & Deviance; Social Class & its implications in society; Gender, race & age differences and Culture, Values, Beliefs, Socialisation.
How will I be assessed?
There is a Final Examination of 2hrs 30mins worth 80% and a Coursework Project (subject of your choice) worth 20%.
Career Opportunities & Progression
There are a number of routes you could take after successfully completing this course, such as: Progression to AS/A2 Sociology, Study of Social Science at Higher Education. Sociology is a subject that is useful for careers in Social Work, The Police Force, etc.
