Normally students 16 - 19 years of age will require a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grades A* - C including Geography. Entry for mature students without formal qualifications is at the discretion of the Faculty.

Course Content
Geography is the study of the physical and human environment and is a subject which enables students to acquire a large number of skills including communication and number work as well as the use of problem solving and investigative skills. The study of the subject increases awareness of the environment and makes students aware of world problems and issues as well as locational knowledge. For this reason it is an ideal subject to study and combines easily with a variety of other subjects at A level.
Course Features
Students develop knowledge and understanding of the world at local , regional and global levels.

Provides an understanding of the interrelationship between humans and the physical environment.
It enables students to participate in the learning process through fieldwork and practical work.

Career Prospects and Progression
A Levels provide an excellent basis for progression to Higher level qualifications such as degrees or Higher National Diplomas. Geography can support careers in Environmental Science, Travel and Tourism, Estate Management, Surveying, Conservation, Town and Regional Planning, Meteorology etc. The problem solving approach and transferable skills developed through the study of geography can be useful in jobs which require analytical ability.
