Health & Safety in Workplace Level 2 Award
This qualification, which replaces the CIEH Foundation Certificate in Health and Safety in the Workplace, provides a strong introduction and detailed overview of good practice in health and safety in the workplace. It is aimed at those working in any business sector who require essential knowledge and understanding of health and safety. Candidates successfully completing this qualification will understand:

    Course Content:
    The qualification covers the following topics:

  • Legislation
  • Health
  • Safety
  • Welfare
  • The workplace and workplace equipment
  • Risk assessment
  • Manual handling
  • Hazardous substances
  • Ergonomics and workstation design
  • Transport and vehicles
  • Noise and vibration
  • Special arrangements to support candidates with learning difficulties can be made, although we do ask that you make the College aware of any special requirements prior to booking a place on the course. Support may also be available for candidates for whom English is not their first language. Again, we would ask that this be discussed before a place is booked.
    Entry Requirements:
    There are no formal entry requirements.

    Entry Process:
    There is no interview required.

    Assessment:
    Candidates will be assessed by an examination paper consisting of 30 multiple choice questions to be completed in one hour under examination conditions. Candidates who achieve 20 or more correct answers will pass the examination and receive a certificate. The results will take approximately two weeks to process.

    Progression Routes:
    Candidates successfully completing this qualification may progress to the CIEH Level 3 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace offered by the College.
