Health & Social Care Level 3 NVQ
The course is for those working in a responsible role within residential or day services in Health and Social Care. It is appropriate for those who already have NVQ2 in Care and who are seeking recognition for their professional development and competence. The College welcomes enquiries regarding individually tailored programmes of training.

Course Content:
This is a practically based course but there will be significant emphasis on the aquisition of knowledge relevant for those who are expected to carry responsibility for team leadership and decision making within a care setting. It includes topics such as personal development, clinical procedures, the development and revision of care programmes, supporting individuals when they are distressed, contribution to the effectiveness of work teams and the managers role in identifying and managing abuse.

Awarding body:
West Kent College, College Certificate.

Entry Requirements:
Applicants should be working in a social or health care setting. It is an advantage to have NVQ Care Level 2 but not a requirement. Acceptance onto the course is subject to a successful interview with the course tutor.

Entry Process:
Applicants will be invited to attend an interview with the course tutor.

Assessment:
Both practice and knowledge will take place in the work place using the evidence that has been generated during the College workshops. Where there is no suitable work-based assessor the appointment of a peripatetic assessor may be negotiated.
