Course Description: This course is designed to develop students' understanding of the professional areas within the Civil Engineering profession. Students develop expertise in specialist areas of the Civil Engineering Industry, including Structures, Highways, Surveying, Municipal Engineering and Civil Engineering Management. Assessment of student performance is carried out via coursework assessment, observation of practical activities in surveying and examinations.

The course covers a wide range of Civil Engineering related subjects including: Science, Structures and Materials; Analytical Mathematics; Civil Engineering and Highway Design; Geology and Soil Mechanics; Fluid Mechanics and Hydrology; Structural Analysis and Design and Contract Procedures.

Entry Requirements:
  • A BTEC National Diploma or Certificate in Civil Engineering or 1 A Level.
  • Mature candidates with a suitable academic and civil engineering background, may enter the course at the discretion of the Course Tutor.
