HNC Social Care
The HNC in
Social Care is suitable for people who work in settings where care and
support is being provided for individuals or groups. The main aim is to
provide an integrated course of practice and theory to equip candidates to
work effectively in a range of social care settings. Students will study a
number of mandatory units including : Social Care Theory, Psychology,
Sociology and Social Policy along with a range of Options which among
others includes: Working with People who have Autism, People who have
Dementia, People with Mental Health Issues and People who are Involved in
Substance Abuse. The HNC also incorporates four of the core units from the
SVQ Level 3 in Care.
SCQF Level: 7
experience in the sector is desirable, plus 2 Highers (including English)
or other relevant qualifications.
Day Release, Evening.
Social Work or
Social Science Degree Courses.
Social Work and Social Care. The Scottish Social Service Council have
included HNC Social Care as a suitable qualification for registration as a
worker in residential child care and adult residential care setting.

Day Release: 9.00am - 4.00pm
6.00pm - 9.00pm
Students are required
to pay a deposit on application.
