Participants will normally be practising or aspiring middle managers and should have a back ground which will enable them to benefit from the programme. Prior team leader, first line or middle management experience is desirable. A short interview is required for this course before being accepted

Who is this course for?
The ILM Level 5 Diploma in Management aims to assist practising or potential managers with their formal development by developing a very wide range of basic middle management skills and assisting participants in gaining the comprehensive knowledge required at this level.

1 year, 2 evenings per week (1 evening is flexible/blended learning)

Mandatory Units - 23 credits
Understanding the Management Role
Developing the Reflective Manager
Managing Improvement
Making a Financial Case
Developing the Manager as a Critical Thinker
Leading Innovation and Change

Optional Units -with a credit value of 22 including:
Becoming an effective leader
Managing Stress
Communication
Organisational environment
Customer relations, etc

Each candidate must complete the following to national standards:
  • 1 work based assignment
  • 1 Improvement report
  • 1 Innovation report
  • Reflective reviews/oral presentations/written reports for optional units
