International Foundation Programme in Business
The International Foundation Programme is a new pathway designed to give international students the opportunity to gain a qualification which will facilitate access to Higher Educational programmes in a business related subject, such as the HNC Business and Management, and the BA (Hons) Business Management Degree at University Centre Doncaster (UCD) or other UK universities.
What Will I Study?
The programme aims to equip student with essential skills and knowledge to study a UK undergraduate degree in a business related subject.
The programme comprises three key elements:
- Core subjects in business and management
- English as a foreign language (EFL)
- Study skills for studying in a UK university
How Will I be Assessed?
Modules are assessed through a combination of coursework (such as essays, portfolios, or presentations) and examinations.
Students will also sit the IELTS examination at a designated test centre at the end of this course and are expected to achieve a score of 6.0 or above in order to progress onto an HE course.

What About Progression?
Progression onto the first year of Doncaster Business School†s BA (Hons) Business Management degree course validated by the University of Hull is conditional upon successful completion of the International Foundation Programme.
Students could also choose to progress onto university business related undergraduate degrees or equivalent at other UK universities.
Entry Requirements
- Applicants must have successfully completed secondary school education or have GCSE equivalents. No specific subjects are required but an interest in business subjects is essential.
- Minimum IELTS score of at least 5.0 overall.
