Introduction to Digital Photography
This one day course will give you an introduction to Digital Photograhy including image capture, editing and sharing.

Course Content:
This course covers quite a large range of information. Informative handouts are provided so that students can go home and continue to practice and use their new found knowledge. Subjects covered include:
  • Image capture
  • : Theory and practical work (groups) using a digital camera to take pictures and upload those images to the computer. There will also be an introduction to some of the features offered by digital cameras.
  • Image editing
  • : Theory and practical work you will cover cropping, rotating, re-sizing images and correcting red eye.
  • Image sharing
  • : Theory and practical work. Looking at ways of sharing pictures e.g. printing, e-mail attachments and on-line albums. The camera practical exercises will be completed in groups. However, for editing and printing, all students will have access to their own PC, so the tutor can guide everyone through the practical work.

    Awarding body:
    West Kent College, College Certificate.

    The course offers an introduction to the hairdressing industry with the opportunity to gain basic skills and knowledge of salon life. This includes shampooing and conditioning, setting, blow drying and health and safety. Functional skills of English, Maths and ICT are a key part of this course.

    Entry Requirements:
  • At least 4 GCSEs at grade E
  • Applicants must have an interest and passion for hairdressing, be of smart appearance and have good interpersonal skills

    All applicants will be interviewed prior to acceptance for the course. An interview will be arranged at the earliest opportunity after receiving your application.
