Is this course right for me?

ITQ is an NVQ for IT users. It integrates IT training with formal recognition of your ability to apply your IT skills in the work place. You will also develop, be assessed in your knowledge and understanding of IT concepts.

What will I be learning?

You will study five ECDL modules and take exams which contribute to assessments for your chosen iTQ units. For the mandatory unit you will need to submit evidence of how you have applied your IT skills to tasks at work, and your assessor will visit you at work to assess your skills in using a computer.

How will I learn?

Minimum of 3 hours attendance at college IT workshops per week and practice on a computer at work or home. Evidence for assessment is submitted online and feedback is provided via e-mail.

What else might I want to know?

Your assessor will complete a skills scan with you to confirm this NVQ is suited to your job role.
The NVQ is fully funded (free) if you work for a small business or medium sized business.

What can I do afterwards?

Upon achievement you will be awarded the NVQ Level 2 certificate for IT Users awarded by the British Computer Society. There is the opportunity to study for the remaining ECDL modules to gain the European Computer Driving Licence. You may also be able to progress onto alternative Level 2 qualifications or onto a Level 3 qualification.
