Applicants for AS/A2 evening classes will only be offered places if they have passed the requisite entry test(s), except under exceptional circumstances.
NB: Students enrolled at either EHWLC or another institution - on a full time programme during the day will not be offered a place, except under exceptional circumstances. This rule does not apply to AS/A2 in Modern Languages, as these subjects are not offered during the day.

Fee Information: The College charges a range of fees, primarily Home and Overseas. Under 19s assessed as Home, do not pay the course fees, we only charge a 20 enrolment fee which is refunded if you complete the course. Home students over 19 undertaking their First Full Level 2 (equivalent to 5 GCSE A-C) or their First Full Level 3 (equivalent to BTEC National or 2 ALevels) will be charged 20 enrolment fee plus any examination fees. For Home students over 19 receiving certain state benefits, the 20 enrolment is charged and not refundable. In all other instances, you will be charged the Home-EU or Overseas Fee.

About the course:
The course comprises two parts:
1. The AS course consists of three assessment units
· Unit 1: Structure, Bonding and main group Chemistry
· Unit 2: Introductory Organic Chemistry, Energetic, kinetics and Equilibrium and Application
· Unit 3: Laboratory Chemistry 12. The A2 course covers 3 modules and will be covered between January and May
· Unit 4: Periodicity, Quantitative Equilibria and Functional Group Chemistry
· Unit 5: Transition Metals, Quantitative Kinetics and Applied Organic Chemistry plus Synoptic Test
· Unit 6: Laboratory Chemistry 2 plus Synoptic Papers.
You dont necessarily have to take the full Advanced GCE qualification: you can still get a certificate for the AS.

After the course:
You could gain entry to a variety of higher education courses including:
· Science-based career
· Teaching
· Medical Health/Lab work
With the addition of A2 Chemistry you could gain access to a Biomedical science course.
