Students should have completed a GCSE maths and wish to improve their grade, or they should be currently at level 1 level in order to enrol on this level 2 course.

Is this course right for me?
This course will enable you to improve on a previous Mathematics grade. The clear course structure and support will enable you to gain understanding and confidence in Mathematics.
What will I be learning?
There are 4 main areas of mathematics in the course and students will need to solve problems with and without a calculator. The number part of the course includes fractions, decimals, percentages and ratio. The data section will involve producing a piece of coursework using graphs and statistical calculations such as averages. The shape section involves area, volume, angles and measures and finally the algebra section involves equations, graphs and a coursework task.
How will I learn?
There are 2 examinations, one without a calculator. There are also two coursework tasks to be completed. In addition to class work regular homework will be set.
What else might I want to know?
Students will need a scientific calculator.
What can I do afterwards?
This will enable students to be more confident in mathematics and a grade C at GCSE level is an entry requirement to some higher level courses and to some employment.
