The IC3, or Internet and Computing Core Certification, is a Microsoft course providing you with the required computing skills to succeed in a digital world. It demonstrates that you are capable of using a broad range of computer technology to prepare you for employment and to allow you to advance your career through additional computer certifications such as CompTIA A+ and other desktop applications. The cost of the textbook is included in the cost of the course.

The IC3 course includes the following: Computing Fundamentals (basic hardware, software and operating systems), Key Applications (software such as Word, Excel and Database), Living On-Line (internet activities).

To satisfactorily achieve the IC3 certificate you must pass all 3 exams in Computing Fundamentals, Key Applications and Living On-Line.

Further Study/Employment
On satisfactory completion of the IC3 course you may progress to further Computing and IT programmes at a higher level such as NQ Computing and IT SCQF Level 5 or CompTIA A+.
