Modern Apprenticeship in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (Light Vehicle) - Level 3
To achieve the Modern Apprenticeship certificate, apprentices must successfully complete:

- A Level 2 VRQ in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (Light Vehicle)
- A Level 3 VRQ in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (Light Vehicle)
- A Level 3 S/NVQ in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (Light Vehicle)
- All five Core Skills at appropriate levels
- A successful period of employment in a garage or dealership

The course uses a mix of theory and practical activities to develop the skills required to service, maintain and repair a range of motor vehicles. The course programme includes: Diagnose and Rectify Light Vehicle Engine and Component Faults, Diagnose and Rectify Vehicle Chassis System Faults, Diagnose and Rectify Auxiliary Equipment Electrical Faults.

Further Study/Employment
This course prepares you for further study at HNC/D level in Automotive Engineering and also the Level 4 Certificate/Diploma in Advanced Automotive Diagnostic Techniques.

Duration: 3-4 years part time, Block release by arrangement.
