The Course
This two year part time course is designed to form a natural progression from a Foundation Degree course in Composition. Applicants should have a secure knowledge of sequencing and scoring skills and be able to demonstrate a broad historical and cultural perspective. Experience of writing to moving image is preferred but not essential.
The course encourages students to develop an individual style, to create compositions that both fuse and challenge the techniques and conventions studied at Certificate and Intermediate Levels. A detailed study of contemporary practitioners and a comprehensive analysis of significant works will lead to the development of a personal portfolio, which will demonstrate a range of techniques and applications.
The course has a strong reputation for progression into the industry, with recent graduates having gained high profile commissions in TV drama, documentaries, advertising, corporate video and computer games.
