Course Content

This BTEC Level 3 National Certificate is designed to equip individuals with the practical skills, knowledge and understanding required for success in current employment and for progression to future employment in a range of electrical and electronic occupations including design, installation, operation and maintenance of complex electrical/electronic engineering products and systems.

Career Prospects and Progression

The course is a work related qualification for employment and a progression route to higher nationals. Additionally it is a university entry level qualification. The course is equally suitable for school leavers and mature students.

Method of Assessment

All twelve units are internally assessed via tests, assignment and practical activities. The project and the communication unit are combined to form an integrated vocational assignment (IVA).

Entry Requirements

Normally 4 GCSEs at Grade C or above, including Mathematics and Science. This can be waived for mature students who can demonstrate the necessary commitment and ability.
