Fee Information: The College charges a range of fees, primarily Home and Overseas. Under 19s assessed as Home, do not pay the course fees, we only charge a 20 enrolment fee which is refunded if you complete the course. Home students over 19 undertaking their First Full Level 2 (equivalent to 5 GCSE A-C) or their First Full Level 3 (equivalent to BTEC National or 2 ALevels) will be charged 20 enrolment fee plus any examination fees. For Home students over 19 receiving certain state benefits, the 20 enrolment is charged and not refundable. In all other instances, you will be charged the Home-EU or Overseas Fee.
About the course:
This course is portfolio based and consists of seven units, four compulsory and three optional.
You must have a placement (paid or voluntary) in a school before enrolling on the course.
Compulsory units : Help with classroom resources and records, help with care and support of pupils, provide support for learning activities, provide effective support for your colleagues.
Optional units : Support literacy and numeracy activitie in the classroom, contribute to the managment of pupil behaviour, support the maintenance of pupil safety and security, contribute to the health and well-being of pupils, support the use of ICT in the classroom.
Assessment:
You will need to produce a portfolio of evidence to show that you have completed the performance criteria. This may include photos, written work, answers to questions and observation reports on your work with children.
After the course:
You will be able to move onto a level 3 qualification and if currently volunteering look for full time employment.
